Softball (5/13/13) Tysinger Named Daktronics Softball Region Pitcher of the Year 
Catawba College freshman Carley Tysinger (Lexington, NC/C. Davidson HS) has been voted the Daktronics NCAA II Southeast Region Softball Pitcher of the Year by the region’s Sports Information Directors. Tysinger was also an all-region first time selection from Daktronics and was named second team all-region by the NFCA.

Lacrosse (M) (5/4/13) Men's Lacrosse Closes Out 12-13 Athletic Season With Loss to Belmont Abbey 
SALISBURY, NC -- Belmont Abbey used a big second quarter to pull away from host Catawba as the Crusaders posted a 20-13 win in men's lacrosse action on Saturday night at Shuford Stadium. Belmont Abbey improves to 11-5, while the Catawba Indians end their season at 9-8.

Baseball (5/2/13) Zubillaga Earns Baseball Academic All-District Honors 
McLEAN, VA – Catawba second baseman, Julio Zubillaga (China Grove, NC/Carson HS), has been named to the 2013 Capital One Division II Academic All-District Baseball Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday. Those honored will advance to the Academic All-America Ballot.

Athletics News (4/30/13) Lomascolo and Young Grab Top Athlete Awards fof 2012-13  SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College has announced its 2012-13 athletic award winners for its student-athletes. The awards were presented at the annual athletic ceremony held at the Keppel Auditorium on Tuesday, April 30. Heading the list of award winners were Nick Lomascolo and Jenny Young, who were awarded the Kirkland and Lomax Awards for the top male and female senior athletes, and Eoin Duffy and Taylor May, who were given the Wurster Awards for team leadership.
