Men's Basketball big underdogs for Saturday's regional meeting with Kennesaw
Catawba’s men’s basketball team will look to continue its string of late season upsets as the Indians will face host and top-seeded Kennesaw State on Saturday night in the opening round of the NCAA II South Atlantic Regional at the Spec Landrum Center in Kennesaw, GA. It marks the fourth appearance for Catawba in regional play and first since 2001. It will mark the first-ever meeting between the Indians and the Owls in men’s basketball.
Catawba, 12-18 and winners of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament, are the only team to make the Division II playoffs with a losing record in either the men’s or women’s bracket. Kennesaw State, 29-4, beat Columbus State on a last-second shot to win the Peach Belt Conference Tournament title on Sunday.
Saturday’s first round will consist of four quarterfinal games, while the semifinals will be held on Sunday night and the championship game on Tuesday night. Tickets for each session will be $10 for adults and $5 for students.
