Women's Lacrosse Defeats Southern Wesleyan Behind Boucicaut's Four Goals

Catawba rifled off 27 shots to the Warriors’ 12 in the contest. Southern Wesleyan struck first with a goal in the first minute and a half. The Lady Indians were quick to respond after when Colleen Green tied the score 1-1 two minutes later.
Attacker Mercedez Boucicaut scored her first goal of the game with 8:24 remaining in the first quarter, and the score stood at 2-1 after the opening period.
The defense held firm for both teams in the second period and the score remained 2-1 at the half. Aryn Dorr made two saves in the quarter.
The Lady Indians pulled away in the third quarter by scoring four unanswered goals. Ella McCusker scored the first goal in the second half to make it 3-1, and Isabella Lehr scored next on a man-up goal. Caroline Falcone maneuvered through the defense for the third goal of the period even though Catawba was a player down. The final goal of the quarter came out of the stick of Isabella Lehr on an assist from Colleen Green.
Headed to the final period, Catawba led, 6-1.
Mercedez Boucicaut netted her second goal of the game a minute and a half into the fourth, Ella McCusker scored following a SWU goal, then Boucicaut scored the final two goal for the Lady Indians including the final goal with eight seconds left.
Catawba won by a final score of 10-3 which was their win since February 19, 2020.
