Newberry led 3-1 after the first quarter, but Catawba scored back-to-back goals to begin the second quarter and tied the score, 3-3. The Wolves got a late goal before halftime and held a one-goal lead at the break.
The visitors scored the first two goals of the second half to go ahead, 6-3, forcing Catawba to play from behind.
The lead remained at three goals into the fourth quarter before Catawba made a late charge. Caroline Falcone scored the final two goals of the game in the last two minutes on free position opportunities, but it was too little too late as Newberry got the win, 11-9.
