Lady Indians Score 19 Goals In Senior Day Win Against Tusculum

The game began as a back-and-forth affair in which senior Jade Williams scored the first goal on an assist from fellow senior Colleen Green. The Pioneers answered back with two goals in a row to quickly jump ahead after scoring ten seconds apart.
Isabella Lehr got her first goal of the game on a free position shot with 8:49 in the quarter to tie it up, 2-2. Tusculum briefly went ahead after a score, but Ella McCusker and Colleen Green scored back-to-back to give the Lady Indians the lead again, 4-3. Tusculum tied it up before the end of the quarter as the game went to the second in a 4-4 tie.
Catawba was able to gain some separation in the second quarter by outscoring the Pioneers 4-1 in the next period. Joey Baillie led off the scoring then Isabella Lehr scored three more goals to give the Lady Indians an 8-5 lead at halftime.
After the intermission, Catawba came out on fire. The home team rattled off five straight goals in the first five minutes of play. Lehr led kept her hot streak going with the first goal of the second half then, Caroline Falcone weaved through the defense for a score. Joey Baillie and Colleen Green scored again before Mercedez Boucicaut got in the scoring column for the first time in the game. After the burst, Catawba led, 13-5.
The Lady Indians continued to roll. Gracie Hubbard, Lehr, and Falcone added fuel to the fire allowing their team to take a 16-8 lead into the final quarter.
Seniors Jade Williams, Colleen Green, and Caroline Falcone scored the team's final three goals and senior goalkeeper Aryn Dorr made 12 saves to cap off the Senior Day victory with a 19-12 win.
Catawba moved to 8-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play on the season and are currently sixth in the SAC standings heading into their final game of the season next Wednesday.
