Baseball drops 9-3 decision at BartonWILSON, NC – Catawba fell to host Barton 9-3 in baseball action on Tuesday night at Fleming Stadium. The Indians fall to 31-13, while Barton improves to 19-22. Barton got on the board in the second, but Catawba came back to take a 2-1 lead in the top of the third on a two-run double by Jimbo Davis (Salisbury, NC). The lead would be short-lived as the Bulldogs struck for three in their half of the frame on a home run by Eric McInerny. Barton would take a commanding lead in the fifth, scoring five times. David Kimball had a two-run double and Kevin Brosseau followed with a three-run homer. Scott Searles (Boston, MA) plated the final run for the Indians on a sacrifice fly. Brousseau and Rufus Wilson each had a pair of hits for Barton, while Michael Parker limited the Tribe to four hits over seven innings. He posted nine strikeouts and got two perfect innings of relief from John Miller. #####
