Women's Soccer shutout by Presbyterian

SALISBURY, NC -- Presbyterian defeated host Catawba 1-0 in South Atlantic Conference women's soccer action on Saturday night at Frock Field. The loss ends the Lady Indians hopes of a league title, leaving Catawba and Presbyterian tied for second in the SAC standings. The Blue Hose improve to 9-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the SAC, while Catawba falls to 7-6-1 and 5-2. Both teams will host first round tournament matches on Tuesday. After a scoreless first half, Presbyterian's Anne Gilmore (Athens, GA) scored the lone goal of the match at the 72:16 mark of the second half. Catawba was able to out-shot Presbyterian 12-9 and had eight corners to none for Presbyterian, but could not find the net. Lara Johnson (Hilliard, OH) made seven saves to record her second shutout of the season.
