Burman scores twice to lead Women's Soccer over USC-Aiken

AIKEN, SC – Catawba College got a two goals and an assist from sophomore McKenzie Burman (Rolesville, NC) to lead the 18th-ranked Lady Indians to a 4-0 shutout of host USC-Aiken on Wednesday night at “Pacer Pit”. Catawba improves to 5-0, recording its fourth shutout of the year, while the Lady Pacers fall to 0-3-2. Burman tallied her first goal just over 12 minutes into the match and added a second in the 26th minute off Jennifer Lowe’s (Enfield, CT) team-leading eighth assists of the season. Freshman Lauren Whitley (Greensboro, NC) notched the first goal of her career with just under five minutes remaining in the half, giving Catawba a 3-0 edge at the break. Freshman Paige Harrington (Albemarle, NC) would score her team-leading seventh goal of the season off a Burman assist at the 83:38 mark to close the scoring. Kathleen Blake (Greensboro, NC) and Cathrine Balentine (Charlotte, NC) shared the shutout. The duo faced just four shots with Blake recording the lone save.
