#17 Women's Soccer cruises to 3-0 win over Mars Hill

SALISBURY, NC – Ranked 17th in NCAA II, Catawba College remained unbeaten cruising to a 3-0 win over visiting Mars Hill in South Atlantic Conference women’s soccer action on Saturday night at Frock Field. The Lady Indians defense was stellar, grabbing their fourth straight shutout, improving to 8-0 overall, 2-0 in SAC play. The Lady Lions fall to 3-4, 0-2. Kim Crowley (Glendale, AZ) tallied her first of the year just 2:55 into the contest on a blast from 25 yards out, off a pass from Steph Morey (Ephrata, PA). Freshman Ashley Boles (Ft. Bragg, NC) assisted on her first of two goals in the 26th minute, helping Kyley Thompson (Hagerstown, MD) to her sixth goal of the season. The Tribe took a 2-0 lead into the locker room at the half. Boles then teamed up with Jennifer Lowe (Enfield, CT) in the 84th minute, both assisting on a Paige Harrington (Albemarle, NC) goal, her team-leading ninth in eight games. Mars Hill was held without a shot for 70 minutes before Ashley Eakins (American Folk, UT) fired three shots in a three-minute span with Indian goalkeeper Cathrine Balentine (Charlotte, NC) picking up three saves, for her second win and shutout of the season.
