Burman/Lowe send Women's Soccer to Southeast Region Final

JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – The Catawba Lady Indians advanced to the finals of the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Women’s Soccer Tournament with a 1-0 overtime win over North Florida on Friday. Catawba will meet SAC-rival Carson-Newman on Sunday, November 14 at noon in the Southeast Region Championship match. The two teams battled for the full 90 minutes and the score was tied at 0-0 at the end of regulation. McKenzie Burman (Rolesville, N.C.) was the hero for the Lady Indians as she took a cross from Jennifer Lowe (Enfield, Conn.) and scored in the 103rd minute. The goal by Burman ties the school record for goals in a season and Lowe’s assist breaks her own school record for assists which was set last season. Both goaltenders played well as Catawba’s Cathrine Balentine (Charlotte, N.C.) had nine saves and North Florida’s Heather Gosslin (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) added six saves.
