Swimming takes win over Guilford

SALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba College defeated Guilford 107-74 in women’s swimming action on Friday night at Johnson Pool. The Lady Indians took first place in all 11 events. Christine Ofslager (Midlothian, VA), Lauren Smith (Seekonk, Mass.) and Leigh Spada (Shelby, N.C.) each won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team. Margeaux Doiron (Gibson La.), Erin Hyde (Lilburn, Ga.) and Emily Daniels (Mebane, N.C.) each picked up one individual win. Hyde and Doiron were on both winning relay swims. Ofslager again took top honors in the 1000 free (11:57.85) and the 500 free (5:47.65), while Smith was first in the 200 IM (2:19.98) and the 100 breaststroke (1:11.88). Spada earned wins in the 50 free (26.12) and the 100 free (56.45). Doiron won the 200 free (2:08.19), Hyde took the 100 fly (1:02.75) and Daniels won the 100 back (1:07.13). The Lady Indians won the 200 medley relay (2:03.70) by almost 13 seconds and the 400 free (3:51.35) by nearly a minute. #######
