Baseball drops second straight to USC-Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. -- Catawba fell 6-3 to host USC-Aiken in baseball action on Saturday afternoon at Hernandez Stadium. The Pacers improve to 8-3, while the Indians, ranked 23rd, fall to 12-5. Robert Davis accounted homered and collected four RBI to lead the Pacers. His homer in the first staked Aiken to a 2-0 lead. Catawba tied the game in the fourth on a two-run homer by Aaron Rimer (Salisbury, N.C.), but the Pacers came right back with two of its own in the fourth to lead 4-2. A RBI-single by Matt Baker (Charlotte, N.C.) in the Tribe fifth cut the margin to 4-3, but Davis had a sacrifice fly in the fifth and a RBI-double in the seventh to give Aiken some insurance. Casey Derhak had four hits for the Pacers, while Steven Kinney collected three hits. Rimer and Baker had two hits for the Tribe. ######
