Blue rallied to beat White in Football Spring Game
Corey Darnell kicked a 29-yard field goal with 1:55 remaining as the Blue rallied to beat the White 9-6 in Catawba’s annual Spring Football Game. Brad Roach helped key the comeback by completing six-of-eight passes in the second half for 74 yards. The White led after a half as Brett Gibson completed an 86-yard pass to Corey Ready with 4:46 to play in the opening quarter for a 6-0 lead. Ready had two catches for 102 yards in the game. Gibson was four-of-seven passing for 108 yards. The Blue scored to tie the game on the opening possession of the second half. Roach marched the squad down the field and Mario Crowe scored from five-yards out at the 6:43 mark. Crowe had 40 yards on 12 carries. Chris Noel added 26 yards on six attempts. For the game, Roach went 10-of-19 for 155 yards. Rod Tenor caught four passes for 48 yards and Trevan Davis had three grabs for 40 yards. Kory Fisher ran for 45 yards on 10 carries for the White. #####RELATED LINKS
