Women's Tennis equals record with 17th win in victory at Newberry

NEWBERRY, NC -- Catawba claimed third place in the South Atlantic Conference and equaled a school record with its 17th win, defeating host Newberry 8-1 in women’s tennis action on Friday afternoon. Catawba improves to 17-5 overall and 5-2 in the SAC, while Newberry falls to 2-9 and 1-5. Catawba will host a first round tournament match at the Johnson Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon. Catawba claimed all three doubles matches to take a 3-0 lead and won five singles matches as KT Rebadow (Niagara Falls, NY) had to retire for Catawba after dropping the first set 7-5.
