Burman strikes again as Women's Soccer wins eighth straightMISENHEIMER, NC -- Catawba got a first half goal from McKenzie Burman (Rolesville, NC) and held on to defeat host Pfeiffer 1-0 in women’s soccer action on Monday afternoon at Lefko Field. Catawba improves to 9-2, recording its eighth straight win and third straight by shutout. Pfeiffer falls to 7-4.Catawba had just five shots in the match with four coming in the opening half. Burman would net the lone goal, her 14th of the season, as she headed home a free kick from Carrie Wollaston (Landenberg, PA) midway through the first half. Pfeiffer had three shots on goal in the first half, but Kathleen Blake (Greensboro, NC) turned back each chance. Neither team mounted much of an attack in the second half, although Pfeiffer controlled possession most of the half. The Falcons had four shots, but only one on goal.
