Women's Soccer extends non-losing streak to 11 matches

GAFFNEY, SC -- Catawba College, ranked ninth in the latest NSCAA/NCAA II national poll, shutout host Limestone 5-0 in women’s soccer action on Tuesday afternoon at Saints Field. Catawba, who also moved to the top of the NSCAA Southeast Region poll, improves to 11-2-1 overall and is extends its non-losing streak to 11 straight matches. Limestone falls to 6-8.Kelly Fearman (Alliston, ONT, CANADA) broke the ice for the Lady Indians with a tally in the 28th minutes. Junior McKenzie Burman (Rolesville, NC) gave Catawba a 2-0 lead at the break with her record-tying 17th goal of the season just over five minutes before the break. In the second half, Catawba got goals from Kyley Thompson (Hagerstown, MD), freshman Delaney Crouch (Charlotte, NC) and Kelley Stephens (Boca Raton, FL). Kathleen Blake (Greensboro, NC) recorded the shutout with a pair of saves in goal. Catawba held a 23-9 edge in shots. “It was a good day for us,” said Catawba Coach John Cullen. “We got to No. 1 in the region poll and No. 9 in the nation poll. Everybody got a good workout and everybody got plenty of minutes.
