Layman and Burman earn All-America honors in Women's SoccerSALISBURY, N.C. -- Catawba College senior defender Lindsay Layman, of Hagerstown, MD, and junior forward McKenzie Burman, of Rolesville, NC, have earned All-America honors in womenís soccer from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Layman was named to the 2005 NSCAA/adidas All-America second team, while Burman earned third team honors. Layman, a former standout from Smithsburg High School, was an anchor on a defense that allowed just 12 goals in 21 matches and posted a dozen shutouts. Catawba ranked ninth this season in NCAA II in both goals against average (0.56) and shutout percentage (.57). Over Laymanís career, Catawba recorded 47 shutouts in 82 matches. Burman, a product of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School, was named the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year after setting a school record with 23 goals. She ranked 11th in NCAA II in goals per game (1.1) and was 16th in points per game (2.4). Burman stands second all-time at Catawba with 48 career goals. #####
