Women's Soccer open SAC play with shutout win

JEFFERSON CITY, TN - Catawba College opened its South Atlantic Conference women's soccer slate on Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 win over Carson-Newman at McCowan Field. Catawba scored early in the first half and went on to defeat the Lady Eagles 1-0. With the win Catawba improved to 2-2-1 and Carson-Newman fell to 2-2. The only goal of the match was scored when Catawba's Kim O'Hagan (Branchburg, NJ) served a free kick to Jamie Fink (Woodbridge, VA), who converted at he 17:00 minute mark. Lady Indian goalie Kim Clayton (Haw River, NC) had 11 saves to post her first shutout of the season. Leslie Durst had 3 saves for Carson-Newman.
