Baseball and Softball set summer rodeo date

The Catawba College Baseball and Softball teams in conjunction with KenJ Productions will be holding the Catawba Grand Slam Professional Rodeo on Friday, June 16-17 at the Rowan County Fairgrounds. The Rodeo is sanctioned by the International Professional Rodeo Association and will include events in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, team roping and bull riding.

The Catawba Grand Slam Rodeo will feature the very best in Professional Rodeo and family entertainment, produced by the KenJ Production Company of Aiken, SC. The Rodeo features World Champion bucking horses and bulls owned by Ken Treadway, two-time Stock Contractor of the Year in the IPRA.

The whole family will enjoy seeing World Champion cowboys and cowgirls compete for points and prize money, trying to lead them to the International Finals Rodeo. The KenJ Production Company brings you the very best in rodeo specialty acts and the funniest rodeo clowns in the business.

The event will be held on Friday, June 16 and Saturday, June 17, starting at 8:00 pm each night. Tickets are $15 on the day at the gate or $10 in advance. Children under six are admitted free. Proceeds will be used to establish a scholarship to Catawba for a special needs student and to help support the Catawba baseball and softball programs. Tickets are available at all Salisbury Food Lion locations.
