Women's Basketball defeats Saint Paul'sLAWRENCEVILLE, VA -- Catawba College took a 71-65 decision over host Saint Paul's in women's basketball action on Wednesday night. The Lady Indians improve to 9-2, while Saint Paul's falls to 4-5. Catawba trailed 33-29 at the half, but hit on 13-of-23 (56.5%) of its field goals and cashed in on 14-of- 17 (82.4%) at the line in the final half to gain the win. Danyel Locklear (Pembroke, NC) recorded a double- double with 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead Catawba. Also reaching double figures for the Lady Indians were Ella Pasola (Vantaa, FINLAND) with 13 and freshman Kendall Prescott (Exeter, NH), who had a career-high 12 points. Freshman point guard Ashley Cox (Richmond, VA) had nine points, seven rebounds and four assists. Gail Allen and Quinn Lewis each scored 14 to lead the Tigers. Catawba shot 50% for the game and held a 36-26 edge on the boards, helping offset 25 Lady Indian turnovers. Catawba opens league play on Saturday afternoon, hosting Lenoir-Rhyne at 2 p.m. at Goodman Gym. #######
