Zuzga Named to the Appalachian Region Men's Soccer All-Tournament Team
Catawba senior Nathan Zuzga (Troy, MI) was named to the 2006 NCAA II Appalachian Region All-Tournament team. Zuzga had both goals in the Tribe’s 3-2 semifinal loss to #5-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne in Hickory on Thursday.
It ended an outstanding late season run for Zuzga. He assisted on all three goals in a 3-1 win over Francis Marion and added both goals in a 2-1 upset of #10 Lincoln Memorial.
In the conference tournament opener, Zuzga again delivered both goal in the 2-1 win over Presbyterian. Catawba was held scoreless in the SAC semifinal loss to Carson-Newman before Zuzga scored twice in the regional loss.
In four career Appalachian Tournament games, Zuzga scored four goals and added three assists. He had a goal and two assists in a pair of 2005 matches as Catawba made it the final before losing in penalty kicks. In Catawba’s first-ever regional game in 2004, Zuzga had a goal and an assist in a 5-4 loss to Tusculum.
