Zuzga and Villiard Earn Men's Soccer All-Region Honors
Catawba College midfielders Nathan Zuzga (Troy, MI) and Ryan Villiard (Holiday, FL) have been selected to the 2006 Daktronics All-Appalachian Region Men’s Soccer Team. Both were first team selections on the team which is voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Zuzga, a senior, led Catawba with 13 goals and in total points with 32 as he ranked second with six assists. He ranked fifth in the South Atlantic Conference in both goals and points per game. Four of his goals were game winners.
Villiard, a junior, led the team with eight assists, which ranked sixth in the league. He added six goals, the third most on the squad and ranked second in total points with 20. He scored a pair of game-winning goals. Catawba posted an 11-9 record in 2006 and advanced to the NCAA II Appalachian Region Tournament for the third straight season.
