Women's Basketball rolls to win over Clark Atlanta

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College defeated visiting Clark Atlanta 73-52 in women’s basketball action on Monday night at Goodman Gym. Catawba improves to 17-5, while the Lady Panthers fall to 10-9. Catawba got double-doubles by Danyel Locklear (Pembroke, NC), Dorthell Little (Rockingham, NC) and Felisha Tate (Greensboro, NC) in the win. Locklear had 17 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while Little had 16 points and 12 boards. Tate, a freshman, had 10 points and 10 rebounds, setting career highs in both categories. Catawba trailed 19-16 with 7:29 left in the first half, but went on a 22-3 run to close out the stanza, taking a 38-22 lead at the break. Little had a double-double by the half with 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Indians would lead by as many as 30 in the last half. Tenicha McCain led Clark Atlanta with 10 points off the bench. The Lady Panthers shot just 31.1% and committed 33 turnovers. Catawba held a 59-45 edge on the board, but made only 23-of-43 at the line. #####
