Cross Country Announces Four Committments for 2007 Season
SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College cross country coach, Bill Haggerty, has announced four commitments for the 2007 season. Joining the women’s team is Hannah Thomas, of Robbins, NC, while the men’s team is adding Michael Biggs, of Bennett, NC, Matt Cole, of Lexington, NC, and Andrew Hege, of Thomasville, NC.
Thomas ran at North Moore High School and helped the Mustangs to the conference title. She was all-conference in both cross country and soccer.
Biggs is from Chatham Central High School. He ran to all-conference honors and helped the Bears to a conference championship.
Cole ran at Central Davidson High School and graduated in 2004. He has served in the reserves since graduation. He is the brother of current Catawba cross country runner, Maleah Cole.
Hege was a four-year runner at Ledford High School. He was a three-time all-county and all-conference performer and twice ran to all-region honors. He helped the Panthers to a pair of conference championships.
