Marshall Earns NCCSIA All-State Softball Honors

GREENSBORO, NC -- Catawba freshman, Allie Marshall, was among eleven student-athletes, representing eight different schools, selected to comprise the 2007 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) College Division All-State Softball Team.

Marshall, the SAC Freshman of the Year, is the lone rookie on this year’s all-state team after setting school records for home runs (15), hits (74) and RBI (56).  The second baseman hit .396, earned first team All-SAC honors and ranked among the league leaders in RBI, hits and homers.  The Pleasant Garden, NC, resident helped the Indians to a school-record 41 wins.

The fourth-annual team consists of non-NCAA Division I student-athletes from North Carolina colleges and universities.  North Carolina sports information professionals submitted the nominees and NCCSIA members voted for the all-state teams, which consist of two starting pitchers, one catcher, four infielders, three outfielders and one designated player.
