Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at Pfeiffer
MISENHEIMER, NC -- Catawba and host Pfeiffer played to a scoreless draw in women’s soccer action on Tuesday afternoon. The Catawba Indians now stand at 3-2-2 after two straight ties, while the Falcons are 4-5-1.
Catawba would hold a 19-8 edge in shots, but neither side was able to beat a keeper. Kathleen Blake (Greensboro, NC/NW Guilford HS) had five saves in the shutout for Catawba, while Suzie Hinman repelled 11 shots for the Falcons.
"It was a very tight match," stated Catawba coach John Cullen. "We defended well, but we weren't sharp up front. It's good to go on the road and not lose and we are starting to get solid as a defensive team. We now have to start finding ways to score goals and that's what we have to focus on."
