Cross Country Teams Finish Fourth at LR Inv.

NEWTON, NC -- The Catawba men’s and women’s cross country teams finished fourth at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational on Friday afternoon at Southside Park.  Sophomore Maleah Cole (Lexington, NC/C. Davidson HS) once again paced the Catawba women, while junior Chris Haney (Denver, NC/E. Lincoln HS) led the Tribe men.

Cole clocked a time of 20:49 and finished third on the 5k course.  Senior Toni Jorgensen (Fuquay Varina, NC/Harnett Central HS) placed 14th with a time of 22:19.  Haney placed ninth on the men’s 8k course in a time of 29:26.  Freshman Andrew Hege (Thomasville, NC/Ledford HS) picked up a 14th place finish as he timed in at 29:38.
