Men's and Women's Swimming Finish Second at Boo Bash Relays
SALISBURY, NC -- Both the Catawba men’s and women’s swim temas were second among five schools at the season-opening Boo Bash relays held on Saturday morning at Johnson Pool. Limestone’s men scored 118 points to Catawba’s 86 with the Limestone women totaling 116 points to Catawba’s 100.
Catawba picked up wins in five events. The men took top swims in the 800 free and 500 free relays, while the women won the 300 breaststroke, 800 free and 200 free relays.
For the men, Grant Gibson and Alex Walpole were members of both relay winning teams. In the 800 free they were joined by Craige Hoffman and Corey Rogers, while the 500 free team included Justin Weller and Patrik Drakes.
Freshman Katie Huff set a school record in the 100 breast in her leadoff leg of the 300 relay. She teamed with Meredith Schultz and Kira Capano. Capano and Huff joined Leigh Spada and Dana Jaremko in the 200 free relay, while Schultz was a member of the 800 free team that included Spada, Jaremko and Christine Ofslager.
