Carter, Hamilton earn All-SAC honors in Men's Basketball
Catawba College junior Brian Carter (Alexandria, VA) and senior Terrence Hamilton (Dillon, SC) have earned First Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors in men's basketball. The two ranked among the league leaders in scoring, rebounding, steals and blocks. Carter, of Mount Vernon High School, led Catawba and ranked second in the league with a 16.9 scoring average. He was the league's third leading rebounder at 7.6 a contest. In his 27 games, he reached 20 points on 11 occasions, including twice scoring over 30 points. His career-high of 32 points came in a 75-68 win over Livingstone. He stands just four points shy of 1,000 in his career.
Carter ranked 10th in the SAC in field goals shooting and 13th in steals. He stood eighth in blocked shots with 25 and has moved into third place on the school's all-time block list with 105 in his career.
Hamilton, from Dillon High School, finished the season with a scoring averaging of 16.0 points and added 7.6 rebounds. He ranked ninth in the league in scoring and fourth in rebounding. He scored double figures in 20 of his 27 games and recorded six double-doubles.
Hamilton ranked among league-leaders in both field goal and free throw shooting and stood seventh in steals and 10th in blocks. He finished his career with 1,163 points, ranking 29th all-time. He also ranked ninth all- time in steals with 120.
Catawba recorded a 19-8 mark this season and placed third in the SAC. The South Atlantic Conference is a NCAA II league comprised of eight schools in North Carolina, South Caroline and Tennessee.
