Little, Locklear nab All-SAC honors in Women's BasketballCatawba College junior Dorthell Little (Rockingham, NC) and sophomore Danyel Locklear (Pembroke, NC) have earned First Team All-South Atlantic Conference honors in women's basketball. Locklear was also named to the SAC All-Tournament team. Little, of Richmond County High School, led the Lady Indians and ranked third in the SAC in rebounding with a 10.1 average. Her 284 rebounds was eighth best season in school history and her average ranked her 30th in NCAA II. Averaging a league sixth best 14.3 points per game, Little also ranked among league leaders in steals, blocks and field goal percentage. In just two season, Little has risen to sixth on the all-time blocked shot list with 84 and after posting a school-record field goal percentage of 56.4% last season, she recorded the fourth best season this year at 53.9%. She ranked 30th in NCAA II in field goal shooting and 26th in steals with 89. The 89 was the second best single season in Catawba history. Locklear, who played at both Ragsdale and Pernell Sweat High Schools, led Catawba and ranked fifth in the SAC with a 15.6 scoring average. Her 436 points was the 10th best season output in Catawba history. She also added eight rebounds a game, ranking sixth in the league. She registered the second best field goal shooting season at Catawba, hitting on 55.4% of her attempts and ranked 23rd in NCAA II. Locklear also earned all-tournament honors, averaging 11 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games as the Lady Indians reached the semifinals. The sophomore also ranked among league leaders in steals and blocks and has moved into eighth on the all-time block list with 60 in her career. Catawba posted a 21-7 record this season and finished second in the SAC. It marked the first time in school history that the women's basketball program had recorded consecutive 20-win seasons. The South Atlantic Conference is a NCAA II league comprised of eight schools in North Carolina, South Caroline and Tennessee. #######
