Tennis Adds Four Men and Signs One Additional for Women's Team
SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College tennis coach, Jeff Childress, has announced the signing of four men’s players and an additional signee for the women’s teams for the upcoming season. Joining the Catawba men will be Corey Eldridge, of Sewell, NJ, Alex Kalmbach, of Mason, OH, Tom Mitchell, of Nanaimo, B.C., Canada, and Uri Yarkoni, of Kelowna, B.C., Canada. The women’s addition is Jennifer Denyes, of Bradenton, FL. The women's tennis also signed players during the early signing period in November.
Eldridge is a four-year performer at Washington Township High School. He played #1 singles and was captain as a senior. He was named All-South Jersey Group IV and helped the Minutemen to the state semifinals.
Kalmbach played three years at William Mason High School. As a junior he was named all-league and posted a 16-2 record. He helped the Comets to a 19-2 mark and a conference title.
Mitchell attended the Pendleton School where he was an honor roll student.
Yarkoni was captain and team MVP at Okanagan Mission High School. He also played soccer and played on provincial champions in 2007.
Denyes played at St. Stephens Episcopal High School where she helped the Falcons to regional and district titles. She was named most improved in tennis and was a two-time MVP in golf.
