Women's Tennis knocked off 5-4 by UNC-Pembroke

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College, ranked 40th in NCAA II, fell to visiting UNC-Pembroke 5-4 in women's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon at Johnson Tennis Center. It snapped a nine-game win streak for the Lady Indians, who fell to 11-4. UNC-Pembroke improved to 11-7. Catawba won two of the three doubles to take a 2-1 lead, but managed only wins at #4 and #6 singles. Taryn Gordon (Mutare, ZIMBABWE) fought back from a set deficit to win her match, while her sister, Shelley, took a third-set tiebreaker for the win.
