Men's Soccer Shutout at Carson-Newman
JEFFERSON CITY, TN – Marcus Cabralis scored a pair of goals to help Carson-Newman to a 4-0 win over visiting Catawba in South Atlantic Conference men’s soccer action on Saturday night. With the win, the Eagles improve to 7-2 overall and 4-0 in the SAC. The Catawba Indians fall to 3-9 and 1-3.
Cabralis notched the game-winner in the 17th minute, which came off a corner kick. Ross Carhart had the assist and proved a second helper on a goal by Robert Hill in the 29th minute. The Eagles took a 2-0 lead to the break.
Carson-Newman iced the issue with a pair of goals in a two-minute span midway through the second half. Cabralis added his second at the 70:10 mark and Alessandro Oliveira followed with a penalty kick two minutes later for the final margin. The Eagles held a 19-3 edge in shots.
