Clark Nets Career-High 22 Points as Women's Basketball Tops Brevard
BREVARD, NC – Catawba got a career-high 22 points from senior Cameron Clark (Albemarle, NC/N. Stanly HS) and claimed a 94-71 win over host Brevard in South Atlantic Conference women’s basketball action on Wednesday night at Boshamer Gym. The Catawba Indians improve to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the SAC, while the Tornados fall to 4-10 and 0-5.
A 12-0 run, capped by a three-pointer by Brooke Whitley (New London, NC/N. Stanly HS), helped Catawba grab a 21-12 lead with 12:20 left in the opening half. Brevard would close within three at the 7:20 mark, but the Lady Indians used another 12-0 run to pull away.
Catawba shot 55% in the opening half and led 47-32. A three-pointer by Clark with 11:40 remaining pushed the Lady Indian lead to 66-43. A final three-pointer by Clark with 3:25 to go gave Catawba its largest advantage at 91-63.
