AIKEN, SC -- The University of South Carolina-Aiken swept a softball doubleheader from visiting Catawba on Saturday afternoon at Satcher Field.  The Pacers won by the scores of 3-1 and 4-1 to improve to 9-5 overall, while the Catawba Indians fall to 4-4.

Locklear scored on a wild pitch in the first inning to give USCA the early lead in the second game.  Thornburg tied the game for Catawba with a homer in the second, but the Pacers answered back with an unearned run in their second.

The Pacers stretch the lead to 4-1 in the fifth on solo home runs by Jessica Strickland and Candice Hardee.  Toni Flessate scattered four hits and had four strikeouts in posting the win.  Krista Bashline had two hits for USCA, while Cassie Markham (New Port Richey, FL/Mitchell HS) collected a pair of hits for Catawba.
