Rollins' Lone Goal Holds Up As Women's Soccer Blanks Georgia College
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA -- Catawba earned a 1-0 win over host Georgia College and State University in women’s soccer action at the Bobcat Shootout on Friday night at Bobcat Field. Sophomore transfer Merrit Rollins (Columbia, SC/Lippen HS/W. Carolina) scored the lone goal of the match at the 15:17 mark of the opening half and the Lady Indians made the tally stand up. Rollins took a pass from freshman Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/N. Hagerstown HS) and tallied with a shot off the post.
In the evenly played match, each team took eight shots. The Bobcats held a 3-1 edge in corner kicks. Senior Chelsea Binder (Woodstock, MD/Mount Hebron HS) collected five saves in recording the shutout.
