Women's Soccer wins third straight

NEWBERRY, SC -- Catawba College scored three second half goals to defeat host Newberry 3-0 in women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. The win was the third straight for Catawba, which improves to 3-2-1 overall and 2-0 in the SAC. Newberry falls to 0-2 and 0-5. After a scoreless first half, Jamie Fink (Woodbridge, VA) put Catawba on the board with a goal in the 53rd minute. It came off an assist from Jen Lowe (Enfield, CT), who also assisted on Erin Drickey's (Monroe Township, NJ) first career goal with 20 minutes left, which capped the scoring. Between the two goals assisted by Lowe, freshman Megan Harrell (Houston, TX) delivered her first career goal in the 63rd minute. Kim Clayton (Haw River, NC) recorded three saves in registering her second straight shutout. Catawba held a 17-3 edge in shots.
