Dolbow Scores Overtime Winner as Field Hockey Downs Limestone

GAFFNEY, SC -- Senior Dana Dolbow (Edgewater, FL/Bridgeton(NJ) HS) scored a minute into over to time to lift Catawba to a 2-1 win over host Limestone in field hockey action on Saturday afternoon at Timken Field.  The Catawba Indians improve to 3-8, avenging an earlier season overtime loss to the Saints, who fall to 1-10.

Sam Santoli (Nesconset, NY/Smithtown West HS) scored the first goal of the game in the 24th minute to give Catawba the lead.  Limestone answered eight minutes into the second half when Lauren Askerberg (Huntington, NY) equalized in the 43rd minute.

Overtime was short as Dolbow ended the contest a minute on the lone shot of extra time.  Bronwen Gainsford (Lewisville, NC/W. Forsyth HS) made three saves for the Lady Indians, while Julie Medeiros (Derry, NH) had five stops for the Lady Saints.  Limestone held a 11-10 edge in shots, while Catawba had the 5-3 advantage on penalty corners.
