Clapp Equals Career Low as Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at LMU Inv.

HARROGATE, TN -- Catawba placed fourth among 13 teams at the LMU Invitational men’s golf tournament which concluded on Tuesday at the 6,771-yard, par-72 Woodlake Golf Club.  Host Lincoln Memorial won the event in a playoff with North Greenville as both finished at 576.  Tusculum was four shots back and the Catawba Indians shot a total of 585.

Senior Jonathan Clapp (Greensboro, NC/W. Guilford HS) led Catawba with a third-place finish.  After opening with an even-par round of 72, Clapp shot three under 69 to equal his career-low on Tuesday, but fell one shot short.  Tusculum’s David Talley edged LMU’s Eric Kennedy on a playoff for medalist honors.  Freshman Kyle Kegerreis (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) earned a 10th-place finish with a 144 total, shooting even par both rounds.
