Women's Soccer to Host Wingate Wednesday at 5 p.m. in SAC Tournament Opener
The Catawba women’s soccer team will host Wingate on Wednesday in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference Tournament. The match time has been set for 5 p.m. Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for students.
The Lady Indians are the fourth-seed after posting a 12-4-2 mark during the season. Wingate is the fifth-seed and enters with an 11-3-3 record. Catawba won the regular season meeting 2-0 at Frock Field, marking its 11th straight win over the Bulldogs. Ten of those have been by shutout with six by the score of 1-0.
Other first round games will have top-seeded Carson-Newman hosting Brevard, second-seeded Tusculum entertaining Lincoln Memorial and sixth-seed Lenoir-Rhyne at Newberry. Semifinals will be held Friday at the Manchester Meadows Soccer Complex in Rock Hill, SC, with the finals being contested on Sunday.
