Women's Swimming Tops Lenoir-Rhyne

HICKORY, NC – Catawba earned a 161-78 win over Lenoir-Rhyne in women’s swim action on Saturday afternoon at the Shuford Physical Education Center.  The Catawba Indians had first-place swims in 12 of 13 events

Lindsay Yarborough (Lexington, NC/C. Davidson HS), Laurenn Singleton (Elkin, NC/Elkin HS) and Katie Huff (Richfield, NC/N. Stanly HS) each won two individual events for the Lady Indians.  Yarborough and Singleton swam in both relay wins, while Huff was also on a relay winner.

Yarborough took the top spot in the 50 back and 100 breast, while Singleton won the 50 free and 100 back.  Huff picked up wins in the 100 fly and 50 fly.  The trio teamed with Leah Constan-Tatos (Johannesburg, SOUTH AFRICA/St. Andrews HS) to win the 400 medley relay.  Yarborough, Singleton, Constan-Tatos and Ashley Owens (Stockbridge, GA/Stockbridge HS) claimed the 400 free relay.

Owens had an individual win in the 500 free with Constan-Tatos claiming the 100 free.  Tory Keifner (Charlotte, NC/Providence HS) took the 200 free and Meredith Shultz (Richmond, VA/James River HS) won the 400 IM.
