Tuohy Scores Six Points as Lacrosse Tops St. Andrews
SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba built an 8-2 halftime lead then held off visiting St. Andrews to post an 11-8 win in lacrosse action on Wednesday night at Shuford Stadium. Braden Artem (Acton, Ontario, CANADA/Christ the King) tallied the first of his three goals a minute later and Max Vinograd (Bethesda, MD/Whitman HS) added a goal at the 10:49 mark for a 3-0 edge. St. Andrews picked up its first goal with 4:27 left in the opening quarter on a tally by Bobby Murray (Miami, FL), but Artem beat the first quarter horn to give Catawba a 4-1 lead.
Chris Michela (Oak Hill, VA) scored early in the second quarter for the Knights before Tuohy had two straight for Catawba. Dave Banik (Marietta, GA/Lassiter HS) pushed the Indian lead to 8-2 on a goal just two seconds before the half.
