Clapp Earns All-SAC Men's Golf Honors
ROCK HILL, SC -- Catawba senior Jonathan Clapp (Greensboro, NC/W. Guilford HS) has earned second team All-South Atlantic Conference men’s golf honors. It was announced by the league office on Sunday. Clapp leads Catawba with a 73.88 stroke average this season.
Clapp posted the lowest score in seven of 10 tournaments for the Indians this season. He had a pair of top five finishes last fall, including a runner-up finish at the Tusculum Fall Classic. He equaled his career low with a 69 in finishing third at the Lincoln Memorial Fall Invitational.
Lincoln Memorial's Eric Kennedy, who averaged 73 strokes per round, was named the South Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Player of the Year. Brian McCants, of Newberry, was Coach of the Year, and Chandler Gruenemeier, of Newberry, was named Freshman of the Year. Wingate’s Braeden Jackson was the Scholar Athlete for Men’s Golf.
