Babos Selected to Play in NCAA II Women's Golf Regional
INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Committee announced the selected teams and individuals that will compete in the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships on Monday and Catawba’s Kelsey Babos (Uniontown, OH/Lake HS) has been chosen to compete in the South Regional as an individual. Catawba College will host the Super 2 Regional from May 2-4 at the Country Club of Salisbury.
Each of the four regionals consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with nine teams and four individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. All participants will compete throughout the 54 holes of competition. The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships.
The nine teams selected to the South Region field are Nova Southeastern, Rollins, Florida Southern, Belmont Abbey, Barry, Saint Leo, Newberry, Carson-Newman, and Lynn. Joining Babos as individuals are Emily Gibson, of Montevallo, Kaitlyn Edwards, of Flagler, and Wingate’s Ashley Denton.
The 2010 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships will be held May 12-15, at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Nova Southeastern is the defending National Champion.
