(6/15/10) Catawba Chiefs Club Cranks Up 2010-2011 Membership Drive Catawba College's Chiefs Club began its 2010-2011 membership drive on June 1 with a goal of 525 members, and membership renewal information has been mailed to all 2009-2010 members. A Chiefs Club membership supports the 83 full athletic scholarships Catawba sponsors for approximately 450 student athletes playing one of its 18 NCAA Division II sports. A membership also provides the option to purchase a Catawba Season Sports Ticket for football and basketball. The President of the Chiefs Club for 2010-2011 is Gary Blabon, CEO of Romedical Care, and the Vice-President is Bob Setzer, Vice President at F&M Bank of Salisbury/Rowan County. Those with football tickets from last season should remember the renewal deadline of Friday, July 30th. The Catawba Indians open the 2010 campaign on at 7 p.m. Saturday, September 4th against St. Augustine at home. Chiefs Club memberships can also be obtained online.
