Volleyball falls at Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC The Catawba College volleyball team suffered its first loss of the season in action at USC-Spartanburg on Tuesday night at Hodge Center. The Lady Indians, now 5-1, fell 30-24, 30-27 and 30-23. USC-Spartanburg improved to 7-1. Rachel LaRoche led Catawba with 13 kills and added five digs, while Hope Miller had eight kills and 18 digs. Both teams struggled on attack as Catawba hit just .105, while USCS had a .180 hitting percentage. Lettie Wilkes added 27 assists for the Lady Indians.
