Volleyball rolls to win over Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, TN -- Lettie Wilkes (Williamsport, MD) accounted for 24 assists and four service aces to lead Catawba College to a three-game sweep over host Tusculum College Friday night at Alpine Arena in South Atlantic Conference volleyball action. Catawba (9-3, 2-0 SAC) won by scores of 30-15, 30-12 and 30-28. Tusculum suffers their 10th straight loss as they fall to 2-11 overall, 0-2 in SAC. The Lady Indians rolled to a pair of victories in the opening games, but had to rally in the third frame to complete the sweep of the Pioneers. Catawba has won four straight matches at Alpine Arena, dating back to last season where the Lady Indians rolled through the SAC Tournament in Greeneville en route to the 2001 NCAA Tournament. Crissi Harrison tallied nine kills for the visitors, while Elizabeth Hewitt (Hickory, NC) recorded five blocks in the win. Tusculum was led by Jamie Johnson who tallied five kills and five blocks while Rachel Clinton dished out 15 assists and three service aces, all coming in the third game.
