Women's Soccer Blanked by #3 Florida Tech
SALISBURY, NC -- Casey Lademann scored two goals three minutes apart in the first half to help send #3 ranked Florida Tech past homestanding Catawba 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Frock Field. The Panthers improve to 4-0, while the Catawba Indians fall to 1-3.
The Panthers would get on the board in the 24th minute when Lademann lobbed the ball over Catawba goalkeeper Lindsey Webster (Hopkinton, MA/Hopkinton HS) from the left corner of the box from 17 yards out. Florida Tech struck again three minute later as Chelsea Pushman sent in a cross in front of the Indian net that the charging Lademann pounced on for a 2-0 cushion.
The Panthers tacked on another goal four minutes before halftime courtesy of Kelly Whitaker as they would take an insurmountable 3-0 lead. Pushman would finish with two assists to aid the Florida Tech offensive attack.
The Lady Indians would end the match with just three shots, one being on goal. Webster made nine saves in goal for Catawba.
Catawba continues its stay at home as it hosts Armstrong Atlantic on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 5:00pm.
