Volleyball posts 1-2 record at LHU ClassicLOCK HAVEN, PA – Catawba College picked up one win in three tries at the Lock Haven Volleyball Classic over the weekend. The Lady Indians earned a win over Merrimack, but suffered a pair of five-game losses to Mercy and host Lock Haven. Catawba now stands at 12-6 on the season. Catawba got 18 kills and six blocks from Heather Hawkins (Troutman, NC) in the loss to Mercy. After winning the opening game, Catawba dropped the next two before forcing the deciding game, which it lost 15-13. Rachel LaRoche (Wilmington, DE) had a dozen kills and eight digs, while Erin Naumann (Cave Creek, AZ) had 26 digs. In the loss to Lock Havem Catawba battle back from an 0-2 deficit, but again fell 15-13 in the fifth game. Lettie Wilkes (Williamsport, MD) recorded 72 assists in the loss, the third best performance in school history and three shy of the school record. Hope Miller (Newton, NC) delivered a career-high 23 kills, while LaRoche posted a season high of 21 kills. Naumann registered a career-high 40 digs, which was also the third best number in school history. Sophomore Crissi Harrison (Hickory, NC) led the ladies with 20 kills in the win over Merrimack and added four blocks. Miller added 16 kills and Hawkins had 12. Stephanie Brendel (Drexel, NC) had 20 digs and Wilkes added 49 assists. #######
