LIVINGSTON, AL -- West Alabama rode four early runs to a 6-3 victory over visiting Catawba in baseball action at Tartt Field on Tuesday night. The Tigers improve to 9-10, while the Catawba Indians fall to 14-5, ending an eight-game winning streak.
West Alabama erased an early 1-0 deficit as it loaded the bases in the first with a hit batter, a walk and a single. D.J. Turo put the Tigers on top with a two-run single and West Alabama added two more runs before the inning was over.
The Tigers scored two more runs in the fifth. Tyler Richburg doubled home a run and Micah Reaves had a RBI single. Taylor Bratton and four relievers combined to hold the lead. Bratton went six innings, allowing one run on three hits to grab the win.
